BIG FUN

Another night at the Literary Cafe...The owner of Big Fun on Coventry (one of my most favorite shops in Cleveland) posed for us. After a bit, the drawing started to look like George Washington. Considering my charcoal drawing was ...eh, I decided to do something more fun to the pencil drawing. Considering Steve Presser posed in a paisley shirt, has a "distinktive nose" and goatee, a more creative solution was called for.

When stuck, do more

Top: charcoal, aprx 1.5 hour pose
Bottom: pencil, 30 minute pose

Feeling tired and a bit unmotivated, I decided to try to do more than one drawing during the three hours. I completed two. I started another, from a different position, but I was too tired and ran out of time for it to work out.

If you feel like you're going to mess up from the onset, why not take a chance? It kept me moving rather than overworking the drawing.
